With more than four decades of experience in the real estate sector in the Chicago area, Cameel Halim serves as president of CH Ventures, LLC. Cameel Halim has a history of rehabilitating rundown apartment buildings and saving historic homes, including the Skiff House in the suburb of Kenilworth.

Located at 157 Kenilworth Avenue, the Skiff House was designed by the firm of architect Daniel Burnham, the director of the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition and creator of the 1909 Plan of Chicago. In 2005 the house was scheduled for demolition, despite efforts made by Citizens for Kenilworth to save the historic building. For months, the group had posted yard signs appealing to the community to rally behind their efforts to save the home.
Although Mr. Halim had considered purchasing the home in August 2015, he considered the asking price of $2.5 million to be too high. However, in late October, just a week before the scheduled demolition, he came to an agreement with the owner to purchase the home for $2,350,000, thus preserving a piece of historic architecture in Chicago's north suburbs.
